Each dot is 100 registrations, placed at the town or village of the registered office’s postcode. That is often the accountant’s or lawyer’s office, so the map shows where companies are registered, not where they work. Not on the map: 102,707 with no usable postcode in the file, and 13,197 whose postcode GeoNames doesn’t list (1,018 codes, 735 of them used by fewer than 5 companies, most likely typos). The district counts include every registration with an office there, on the map or not.

What Cyprus does

Every kind of business, in one picture.

Grouped by meaning from the activity each company registered, as the Official Gazette published it. Pick a group to look inside it.

One dot, about 44 companies, for the 132,098 whose activity names a sector.
Close together: similar names and activities. The group names are ours.

Their activity says only “general trade”, “investments” or the like.

One dot, about 44 companies, for the 132,098 whose activity names a sector. The biggest groups first; tap one to look inside.

Grouped by Cybooks from each company’s name and the activity in its Gazette notice, in Greek, so a name can nudge where a company sits. The group names are ours, not the Registrar’s. The activity arrives with the Gazette notice: the newest company here was registered on Wed 23 Sep 2026. 238,938 companies have no activity on file, 207,313 of them registered before 2006, so they aren’t here; search finds them by name.

Beyond the name

Find it the way you remember it.

By what it does

Type it in English. We match it to what each company registered to do, which the register publishes in Greek.

Status

What a status tells you.

The register publishes it in Greek. Here it is in plain English, with the date it changed, so you can check a customer or a supplier before you rely on them.

Not an official certificate. For a bank, a court or a tender, order one from the Registrar of Companies.

Where does the data come from?

From the register that the Department of Registrar of Companies and Intellectual Property publishes as open data on data.gov.cy, under the CC BY 4.0 licence, and from company notices in the Official Gazette.

How up to date is it?

As up to date as the latest register file, and every page says which file that is. The Registrar publishes a new one about once a month, and we load each one. The current file is of Tue 29 Sept 2026.

Can I search by what a company does?

Yes. Type it in English or Greek, like “software development Limassol”. We compare it with what each company registered to do, which the register publishes in Greek. It works for the companies whose objects we have on file.

Why don’t I see directors and shareholders?

Directors and secretaries are on each profile, as the register lists them. Shareholders aren’t in the open data at all.

Is this an official certificate?

No. It’s a free copy of public data, good for a quick check. For a bank, a court or a tender, order a certificate from the Registrar of Companies.

Something about my company is wrong. Who fixes it?

The Registrar keeps the register. Once a change is filed there, the next file brings it here.
